The Importance of FCS and FCCLA

FCS is known as Family Consumer Science and is more than just a curriculum. Family & Consumer Science allows students to plan for possible careers, develop practical skills for employment, understand the importance of nutrition, and learn about appropriate childcare practices, financial literacy, resource management, parenting, and the art of positive communication. FCS ultimately prepares students for future careers and college.

Priorities of FCCLA

FCCLA equips members with real world skills through Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education by preparing members for careers through its four Career Pathways: Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, and Visual Arts and Design. FCCLA prepares members for college and careers by equipping them with leadership skills, education and through personal growth.
